Girl Power!

Summer holiday weather.  Grey and overcast mostly with spells of squally rain.   Typical holiday weather following a long, dry and sometimes warm period.   Hmph!

It didn't spoil the celebration of women in volunteering on the Talyllyn today.   I wandered over to Wharf Station to see the train depart.  Too late arriving to catch the first of several photo shoots so I have borrowed someone else's picture as an extra.   R, C & L the driver, fireman and guard of today's special .... and there were multiple other ladies suitably qualified to take these roles travelling today.   No token women here, we've long been fortunate to have a large cohort, all every bit as capable as their male counterparts and I consider myself honoured to know many of them.   I've known Driver R, a childhood friend of my sister, as long as I've known L. R's family camped at Rhydyronen in the 1970's alongside mine.   Good memories and all a testament to the enduring nature of friendships formed within the Talyllyn family.
