Goodbyes

Today Luke, Meriel and Adam left to go back to England. Being their last day we decided to go for brunch at our favourite cafe, Kaffee Klatsch, who do a good Sunday brunch. Afterwards we walked through the village and up the steep hill back to the apartment.

They packed up, Meriel made sandwiches for their journey, and we dropped them off at the station for the 3.30pm train back to Zurich. I took this photo from across the platform before the train came and blocked my view of them.

After the train pulled off we went for a walk along the river, but it had become so hot and I was dressed too warmly so we went back to the apartment. I took the photo of this very attractive house in the village, which can be seen in the extras.

The apartment is very quiet with them gone, we will miss them, but we will enjoy our last week here. The weather looks like it is going to be very warm this week. Tomorrow is National Day here in Switzerland, and in the past the village has always done a spectacular fireworks display - that is now a thing of the past, for one thing it is too dry and fires are banned at the moment, and I think the other reason is due to the farm animals.
