Watching swallows at Parkend Bridge

I had time today to watch swallows at Parkend Bridge which is a swingbridge over the Gloucester to Sharpness canal. I was surprised to see that they were still visiting their nests which are under the bridge, so presumably they have a second brood of chicks.

It is always a test and a matter of luck as to whether I get any reasonable shots. But what I really like is when they deliberately fly very close to my head, literally within feet, obviously checking on what I'm doing. This isn't the best shot of the day but it does remind me of one of those moments when they came very close by. When they do it, I often laugh out loud at their boldness. It is as if they are being cheeky.
