Surprise!!!!

Today I went to a surprise party for my Aunt and Uncle's 50th Wedding Anniversary. We all hid in the garage until they arrived and then after they got out of their car the garage doors were opened and everyone yelled Surprise!
I got this photo after they cut their cake and the clinking of silverware on glasses demanded a kiss from the happy couple! It's amazing to see the reaction on someone's face when they realize that everyone is there to celebrate a milestone like this and it's all for them. Old friends, extended family and neighbors all there to acknowledge the accomplishment of sticking it out together through thick and thin.
Fifty years of marriage is considered to be a Golden Anniversary. It is one of the most celebrated wedding anniversaries. After all, you have spent half a century with the one person you consider to be your partner and friend. It's a wonderful statement of love and commitment. The rewards are many and today your friends and family let you know how much they admire you and wish you nothing but the best. It was a beautiful day filled with smiles and hugs and stories about the wedding day that took place fifty years ago. Happy Anniversary Aunt Barbara and Uncle Jim! xx
