Family time

So the caravan survived the night, and so did we - just. We were actually a bit cold! But apart from that the bed was comfortable. So gets a tick. We have been so hot at home, we left the roof vent open, as we thought we would need fresh air. Clearly our lack of a proper duvet (I brought a pretty but thin handmade bedcover- see extra) was the reason. Tonight we have extra blankets, and need to buy a double duvet for future trips.

We enjoyed breakfast outside, then packed our barbeque bits into the cool box, and drive the few minutes down the road, to Dobbies the garden centre in Melbourne for coffee. Coffee (tea for me) and scones with jam and cream....we are always on holiday remember, so it is allowed! Very nice relaxing start to our morning. Then a mooch around the shop a bit where I picked up birthday presents for one person and a Christmas present for another. Plus a small broom for the caravan.

On to John and Win's another minute down the road, where we gathered with the rest of the Gibbs clan for a lovely day of eating and chatting. Mollie had driven down with the boys in her car. Daniel became chef in charge of the barbeque, and we had a long overdue catch up. Began making plans for our family get away in October for John and Win's Diamond Wedding anniversary. It was really nice to see everyone face to face, and feels like we haven't done it with everyone since pre covid times.

We were last to leave at around 7, and drove up to Tesco in Royston where we picked up a few more essentials before heading back to the Blanche in the Foxton field. Now another g&t poured, and my book before bed.
