Thumped

Falkirk made the short journey over to Airdrie for our first away league match of the new season. We really shouldn't have bothered as the Bairns were thumped 4-0 by the home side.

It was an even first half with both teams playing good, attacking football and the only difference was that Airdrie took one of their chances while Falkirk wasted theirs. A failure by the Bairns to clear a corner kick early in the second half gave the Diamonds a 2-0 lead and then the Navy Blues just went to pieces. Our goalkeeper got injured and had to be replaced and then, after we had used all our substitutes, our centre half got injured and was carried off on a stretcher leaving us with only 10 men on the park. Airdrie scored two more goals in quick succession, by which time much of the Falkirk support had left for home.

A bad day at the office for Falkirk FC, but an afternoon out of the house for this Blipper. Some you win...
