200 To Go

.........and flying.

So chuffed to have got tickets to the final evening of the Commonwealth Games athletics.  We used public transport door to door and it worked really well.  We even had the chance to meet up with our nephew's wife's parents down from Sheffield to enjoy the Games.

We were sat in the east stand so I was prepared for the low sun as the evening progressed.  I knew I might have the opportunity to get some isolation shots, complete with shadow and Laura Muir dutifully provided in the final lap of the 1500 metres.  It was a simply stunning experience.  The noise that 30,000 spectators created as athletes from the Home Nations competed was unimaginable.  They were lifted by the shear power of so many voices shouting them on to the line.  Truly amazing.

The only down point was the disqualification of our women's 4 x 400 m relay team after the most incredible finish.  Heading home we caught our bus straight away and made our connection for a really trouble free end to the day.  We're definitely going to more athletics if this is what you can expect.
