Chee Dale Stepping Stones

Met up with S and H who are travelling across Britain in a motor home, supporting visitors from Australia and New Zealand.  They started in Edinburgh, completed the North Coast 500 and are now heading south, stopping off in Buxton Spa for a couple of nights.  We arranged to meet up for a walk with them today.

We headed to the Monsal Trail at Millers Dale before walking to Wye Dale before walking back through Chee Dale along a riverside path deep into the gorge that has been cut into the landscape by the River Wye.  At this point the limestone overhangs the river and the only way to progress is on these stepping stones.

We had a lovely day, despite both having cold like symptoms.   After 3 years the last thing we thought was Covid, but on return L tested and saw the two red lines appearing on the test kit.  I, however, tested negative.  We had to check the rules, so long had it been since I was last involved with the virus. Apparently L has to stay at home for 5 days.  I will have to keep testing as the coincidence of both suffering similar symptoms suggests I may have the virus.
