The Jorvik Centre

First time in the Jorvik Centre for us all. It was pretty impressive. It's a kind of ride around Viking era Coppergate with moving wax figures and narration by Sean Bean. And not too long. We bought the swords and shields from the gift shop as they could get a lot of use next week in the Dales.

It was a gorgeous sunny morning in London when we left Fitzroy Square and headed to the M1. We had only decided last night to stay in York tonight but it was a good choice - we have a cottage booked Mon-Fri but a night spare in between London and Malham. We got an excellent Airbnb apartment at a big late discount. After checking in at 3pm we went to the Jorvik Centre which was 2 minutes away. Then back to the apartment to give Orla and Conor some dinner. Then a nice family evening walk around York, south of the city wall. Mum and Dad got a Thai takeaway on the way back for consumption on the roof terrace.
