A Gorgeous Afternoon!

We went to the Oregon Coast Aquarium today and had a grand time. Including being able to touch certain sea creatures in an exhibit made for such things. It’s the first time I’ve been here since the pandemic that that exhibit was open. There were a lot of people
visiting today which made me surprisingly anxious. But we sanitized our hands in the car and went to the playground :-)

The marine layer cleared up midday and we spent much of the gorgeous afternoon at the beach by our condo. The Little Creek runs along the back of the beach for quite a ways, running to to the beach from the hills above. I couldn’t find much out about it, but it’s interesting in that it’s a fresh water creek that empties into the ocean….and when the tide rises, it flows into the creek, raising the level. Anyway we walked along it for quite a while this afternoon, poking at rocks and shells and digging holes and generate having a very enjoyable time. The main is a shot of the floor of the creek - sometimes inches deep, sometimes dry and sometime maybe a foot or so deep (at low tide). The ripples of color in the sand are lovely.

We are a simple dinner outside this evening and currently my son has the kids out in the fire pit area playing the games the management has set up there, and waiting for the campfire to be lit so we can toast s’mores. I’m grabbing an hour of alone time. Phew!
