HIGH JINKS ON SILLY SATURDAY

Hello Lovely Blippers,

Well, here we are again - another Silly Saturday and we were out in the garden before 8 o’clock this morning.  Actually, we had all been a bit naughty when we found the various buckets around the HCB’s garden and decided that we would have an early morning dip!

Mr. HCB went out to his greenhouse and was not at all pleased because he had been saving that water for his runner beans and most of it was now spilt on the ground.  He did have a go at us and said that we would have to be pegged out to dry and he muttered something about knowing what that was like - we didn’t understand what he was talking about, of course.

Mrs. HCB had done some washing yesterday and unlike her, had decided not to use the tumble drier - well done Mrs. HCB! - and had pegged all the washing out instead on her rotary washing line.  Of course, she grumbled about the towels being hard, but we just told her to get over it and said a rough towel on the skin does wonders.

We were quite happy really, because not only will we get dry, but we can also pretend we are on a roundabout and as there is a bit of a breeze today, it should be great fun. Mr. HCB said that we were “throwing caution to the wind” - what a terrible pun - because we are too excited about going on holiday next week to North Yorkshire.

However, Taz and Maurice were laughing so much as they went round that they fell off - and you can see them in the little photograph at the top of this one - but they seemed to be OK, despite falling onto the slate pieces.  Admirer would have loved watching us on our roundabout, but would have been sad to see Taz and Maurice on the ground.

We must tell you something funny that happened last night - well it was funny for us but not for Mrs. HCB.

She was preparing a salad for tea and Mr. HCB had brought in what he thought was a small red sweet pepper from the greenhouse as he thought it would go well in the tzatziki Mrs. HCB had made with some home-grown cucumber and garlic.  OH DEAR!  She decided to taste some of it and we heard a loud ARGHHHHHH - it wasn’t a sweet pepper but a chilli pepper and Mrs. HCB said it burnt her lips and mouth and the burning sensation went on for sometime.  She was quite upset so Mr. HCB went out to look at the packet in the greenhouse, which says “Johnson’s Pepper - Sweet California Wonder, obviously some rogue seeds have got in because there are lots more of the same, so if anyone wants some very hot chilli peppers, let us know!! She did say at least the tomatoes were sweet and we think she has forgiven Mr. HCB.

Hope you all have a great weekend - we wonder what the GWNN and Mr. & Mrs. T. are doing today - and if they are missing us as much as we are missing them.

Take care - with love from
