Shade

The heatwave continues, and this sheep's taking advantage of a tiny patch of shade.

A trip to Leeds today, to meet up with Tom and Lucy. As usual MrM drove us via a scenic route, and the first stop was Hawes. After a coffee to keep us going, we wandered up through the town and back again, popping into a couple of shops on the way. Citronella candles were purchased in the hope that they may deter the midges, since our supposedly very effective insect repellant has failed miserably!

We continued on through the Dales and into West Yorkshire, and eventually arrived in Leeds late afternoon. MrM's ancient pair of sandals had fallen apart, so we made a beeline for an outdoor shop, where he bought a new pair.

Then to the Adelphi where we sat in the beer garden and enjoyed a meal with Tom and Lucy. So good to see them both, and to catch up with their news. A final drink together in another hostelry, and all too soon it was time to say goodbye to Tom as he made his way for the train home. We left Leeds via Headingly to drop off Lucy and my spare monitor, which we had brought for her to use. A final goodbye before the long trip back to Muker, this time by the shortest route!
