Living my dream

Bean rocks

It’s been a day of two halves.

Rain all morning found Bean and I snug in front of the potbelly stove. I read an entire book in one go, which is something I’ve not done for years. Kate Rhodes’ “Ruin Beach” was gripping enough to stop me feeling antsy about being stuck indoors.

After lunch it cleared up and we walked daylight away at Bortons Pond, happy to stretch our legs and get some exercise.

There is something of the look of a ruined castle about this pile of granite on top of the stop bank that runs between the Waitaki River and the Pond.
