It's a really long job

At the end of this morning's outpatient clinic, I started to notice the machinery noise outside. When I looked, I saw that the noise was made by the concrete pump being used to take concrete from the mixer truck to where it was being put to create a wall. To the left of the workmen are concrete walls already laid in place.

Part of the reason for the slow progress is that this part of Auckland is ancient lava flow territory. Rather than creating underground tunnels in clay or even soft rock, they are having to get through thick and very hard lava. Would have made more sense to have an overground station.
