An indoor day

It was such a wet and windy day today that we stayed inside all day. We did some household chores in the morning and spent the afternoon in the kitchen.  Hubby made a beef casserole and a vegetable casserole, while I made Halloumi cheese and yoghurt.

Once again, the weather in the South Island has been absolutely dreadful. Nelson has been hit particularly hard and it’s thought that it will take years to clean up the city.  Over 300 homes have had to be evacuated and of those assessed so far a number have been red stickered, which means that the house is uninhabitable.  Some have been yellow stickered, meaning that the residents can move back in if it is safe for them to do so. It must be heart breaking for the residents affected.

Today’s blip shows the Halloumi ready for cooking.  As you can see, I went for the rustic look when cutting it into blocks.

There are 4,540 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 3,928 compared to 4,750 last Thursday. The number of people in hospital is 473, including 10 in ICU. The seven-day rolling average increase in total deaths attributable to Covid-19 is 12 and 1,807 deaths have been confirmed as either directly attributed to Covid, or with Covid as a contributing factor.
