It was very windy all day today but it didn’t rain, despite a gloomy sky, very damp air and what looked like heavy rain out past Rangitoto. I did a bit of work and hubby baked baguettes. After my Pilates class we met a friend for coffee, put up the open home signs and spent some time with Mum.

The weather in the South Island continues to cause massive destruction and a lot more rain is expected overnight. 

I was greatly cheered to see that two more daffodils have appeared in the garden.  Who knows, others might follow.

There are 3,805 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 3,876 compared to 4,581 last Friday. The number of people in hospital is 466, including 8 in ICU. The seven-day rolling average increase in total deaths attributable to Covid-19 is 11 and 1,815 deaths have been confirmed as either directly attributed to Covid, or with Covid as a contributing factor.
