Life in Sunny Dubai

By GadgetKid

Fully laden

Yay, it's the last working day of the week! :))

I did my hours at my desk, and then we headed out to Biker's Cafe to meet up with friends who are passing through Dubai on their way back to Sydney. I've known Majella since high school and Suresh since my youth group days. We hadn't seen each other in over a decade, so there was lots to catch up on, especially as they had been touring Europe.

I had promised a tour of Dubai after lunch, but we ran out of time, so we skipped the drive to the Palm and just did the sights that are in town (City Walk, MBR Boulevard, the Museum of the Future, the Frame). It was good to show Majella Karama, where she lived briefly in the early 1980s. We used to hang out together because we lived in the same area!

We finally dropped them at the Gold Souk and then drove back to our side of town. G took the main picture from a fast-moving car! She wanted to check out a few things in Matalan, so we popped into Bur Juman before coming home.

My blip is of a full laden dhow heading starting its journey, most likely to Bandar Abbas in Iran. :)
