Sunday ...

... at the lake.

After checking out Lake Nockamixon a couple of weeks ago we decided to go back today for some kayaking.  And what a great day we had!  My collage says it all!

But here are some details on some of the pictures:
Upper left ~ a stunning blue dasher enjoying the sunshine.
Upper right ~ a gorgeous great blue heron in amongst the same lily pads as the blue dasher.  Funny thing about this photo is it's the best picture I've ever gotten of a blue heron ... and I was bopping around in a kayak at the time!
Lower left ~ photo of the lake while we were out in the kayak.
Lower center ~ The man on the right was getting ready to launch a drone when the ranger approached him and told him that drones weren't allowed to be flown here.  I over heard the drone guy ask "how long will you be here?" To which the ranger said, "We will be here a while."  I'm assuming the drone guy was just going to wait until the rangers left the park and fly it anyway.
Lower right: a man and his dogs fishing.  Well ... the man is fishing but not the dogs!

We had packed a lunch which we ate after our kayaking.  Then it was straight home after packing everything back into the car.

Later in the day when I was sitting outside photographing the squirrels and chipmunks the beautiful juvenile ruby-throated hummingbird came to feed.  This is the first time we've seen this particular male ... he is probably a first year hummer having been born this year.  It was so lovely to see him as we don't see many males around. Please see Extra photo.
