In the Greenhouse

... where I am spending a lot of my (limited) free time, the first flowers of the autumn season are appearing.  It's early days yet both in the season and in the greenhouse but it's nice to have benches where the plants can be displayed and better appreciated.   My collection of bulbs and cyclamen should ensure there is something in flower pretty much every day of the year.   Today, Cyclamen hederifolium, flowers before the ivy shaped leaves appear on a plant that does well in the garden but so far I've struggled to find a spot where it's sufficiently protected from winter winds.  I have plans to sort that problem :-)

Work, cafe for the sunset train this evening, took a big bite out of the day.   Not so busy this evening as previous evening trains but still a fair crowd including a smattering of friends.   After a some garden time this morning, lifting many colchicum bulbs which need splitting and replanting, the time before work was mostly filled by a pleasant walk with C and the Megs, catching up with news of her plans for a move to be nearer her family.
