Sparkling Lagoon.

Today the sky was blue as blue making the lagoon sparkle as we had hoped to see it since arriving. We started the day walking to St Marks Square to meet friend H who had taken a Vaporetto. She had just ordered at Florian's sitting immediately in front of the orchestra, so we joined here and ordered tea. C (Corinthian column)had coffee and A and J (Yorkshirebred) had a special Florian's flower tea and J treated us to macaroons which I ate with my Earl Grey! Ridiculously expensive as you pay for sitting in the square and the music but it was a lovely experience that we were rather reluctant to leave.

Water bus passes bought again we headed for the Isolo S Gorgio Maggiore visible here just across from Sam Marco. Wendles56 had recommended we went up the campanile here rather than in St Marks as the queues are smaller and it is cheaper, also it has a lift! despite that only tow of us went up but it was worth it to,get the perspective of Venice in the lagoon, the Grand Canal and the islands.

We went on to Le Guideca and then got the boat again to Tronchetto passing the massive cruise ships in the port and got off at the railway station to walk through the Jewish Ghetto and Canareggio again before returning to the hotel. Stopped enroute of course for a Spritz, and bought some Bellini to take back to our rooms for a pre dinner aperitif.
