Keys

Well A&N made the most of the party last night and A was very fragile this morning! N and I had bacon rolls again but she couldn’t manage anything.
I organised my new Filofax planner and did a concentrated Duolingo session…despite having done nearly 200 days on it I’ve been stuck on some sections too long and want to make more progress. Did my hair and chatted to A&N when they returned from seeing another house..in Haddington. Bigger with better garden but less ‘stone country cottage’ style…probably more sensible! They liked it, so are mulling over what to do.
Off to a reception to welcome the new International Festival Director, Nicola Benedetti. Lovely sweet nibbles and chat to A&AMc and then, for longer, to SMc about Australia trip and her kids. Then a sprint with CR and SMc to the City Chambers for another reception, this time to say farewell to the outgoing Director. Fabulous poem in his honour by the Edinburgh Makar and chatted to JC but by then my back was starting to hurt again….really must go to the sports injury clinic place to get a diagnosis and some ideas for remedial things I can do. Snatched this blip of the keys of the city which were on show at the City Chambers…all very fancy!
Another sprint with CR to Henderson’s for supper. We met LE there and had lots of jolly chat about shows, Edinburgh in August and etc. From there we went to see An Untitled Love at the King’s theatre. Incredibly fluid laid back dance piece choreographed by Kyle Abraham and danced with incredible control and yet apparent ease by the AIM company (extra). Chatted with CR most of the way home then a last cup of tea chatting about the house options with A&N.
Good day!
