If you can't beat them...

Common Toadflax ( Linaria vulgaris )

Another day of trying to get the wildflower plants into the ground.  I haven't counted them but there must be approaching 200 plants to get into the ground before e go away on Friday.

The process is remove a circle of turf, then get one of the plants out of the tray, place it in the hole press it down  to ensure the roots are in contact with the soil, fill in any gaps with soil and press it down.  The ideal position to do this is sprawled on the ground.  There is a problem with this the whole bank appears to be an enormous ants nest, as the 9 bites on my left arm will attest

Thankfully Katkatkat arrived back from her day out with Arcane Spark and family.  She being keen on gardens pitched in and finished off the planting.

The blip is the only one of the plants with a flower still in good condition.  As the name suggests it is a common plant across Europe into Siberia and  central Asia.
