Wet, wet, wet

We planned to go out delivering leaflets this morning before the rain started, but the rain started early so that didn’t happen. The rain got heavier and heavier and the wind ramped up in force and we were both pleased to be inside, dry and warm.  This evening, however, we went over to Mum’s to have a takeaway curry with her and my brother.  Thankfully, the rain had stopped so we didn’t get wet, just battered by the wind.  We had a most enjoyable evening, which included watching The Great New Zealand Bake-Off - on my, those cakes! As we stepped out the door to return home, laden down with left-over curry and wine it was drizzling slightly, a minute later a deluge hit us and we got drenched.  The paper carry bag with containers of curry barely made it home in one piece.  It will now be consigned to the recycling bin.

The only photo I managed today was a very dreary view from our balcony, with just a hint of light from the sun setting somewhere behind the grey clouds.
