Two seasons

Seen on our slightly damp and grey early morning walk.

Late summer heather to the left hand side of the path with a touch of gold on the leaves of the trees.
On the path itself, alongside the high wall of the estate, lots of leaves falling. Not surprising with the recent very dry conditions but a definite sign that autumn is in it’s way.

As always a very nice walk with the ‘Ladies’ and one man. The last of the slightly later early walks for now. Next week we will be half an hour earlier as schools restart. It didn’t feel that light getting up this morning so it won’t be long before we are getting up in the dark again!

Lunch in Ilkley before going to see ‘The Railway Children Return’. An enjoyable film, particularly due to the locality of the filming, but it will never match the iconic original.
All the locations were easily identified (the school house is Haworth Parsonage for example) but no nearer to knowing where the stepping stones and bridge are that are seen with all the children crossing near the end of the film.

Came out sunny again later in the afternoon which I was pleased about as I’d put washing out.  Curtain alterations  await!
