Alarming.

I am extending the fire alarm system today. We did install a system when we converted the church to our home and it has worked well.

The legislation in Scotland changed and requires the provision of a heat detector in the kitchen which is fair enough. A lot of house fires start in the kitchen. The majority of these are caused by gas rings.

We do not have gas. We have not installed gas for over 20 years for cooking or for heating.

However, being safe rather than sorry we have installed a detector which is linked by an integral Wi-Fi system.

This is installed alongside the existing system which is mains wired and interlinked.

Today’s entry shows the new heat and smoke detectors ready to be located in their assigned position.

The other alarming matter is the announcement of the increase in electricity and gas prices. Another world beating price rise caused by the non-government of the Disunited Kingdom.

This will cause real financial hardship to the majority of people living in these blighted isles.

Time for more energy saving technology to be installed in our home.

Our tariff is fixed for another 14 months. Sufficient time to make improvements and install more ‘green’ technology.
