Why Tain

Tain really proved itself today. A perfect afternoon for a wander along the Links. Previously, we tried another café for morning coffee and that was entirely congenial and we did a bit of shopping, bringing back bits and pieces that were needed urgently. Nothing expensive. In fact, some remarkably good value items like a perfectly good bucket for 99p. Oh, and we also brought some excellent Scotch pies back from our wanders for lunch. William Grant bakery. On our scenic afternoon wander, we also called in at an art studio and picked up a some small oils for the bathroom and a tea towel/hanging for the dining area. We also hung some of Mr A's paintings, which had brought up from Edinburgh.

I spent much of the afternoon communing with some grubby Venetian blinds which are now no longer grubby. Good work.

And then after supper we wandered down to Platform 1864 for a couple of beers, leaving just before the Karaoke began.... Much better than the pub we tried yesterday evening, which was definitely a one (warm and mass produced) beer experience.

We needed to do a bit more online shopping when we got back, so now the next 36 hours are pretty much sorted out.

But anyone would fall for a view like that.
