Boy on a stile

Another good night.
Picnic lunch after big hike.
More success with doors!

Still not counting chickens!  But it was a good night's sleep.  He was awake from 5am but he stayed in his room, chatting to himself calmly and only asked for his iPad at the agreed time.  Just lovely.
Busy morning with shopping and sending a few sneaky emails  when Ben's back was turned.  It doesn't matter how engrossed he is in an activity, as soon as I am doing something that is not focused around him he is generally incensed.  Frustrating but we got through it.
Made a picnic and took it up to Alderley Edge again.  Ben requested the same walk that is very "up and down-y".  I had more confidence this time as I knew when the tricky bits were coming and also that we had managed it all before :-D Amusingly we got to the part where you have to crawl under a fallen log (actually crawl) and I noticed a long pole next to it, it turns out they've made it into a sort of stile so you should go over it and not under it.  That really made us chuckle at our previous selves!!
He loves a stile anyway, so that was another win.  Photo is of him pausing on a random stile for a bit of brownie to "keep us going"!  Generally a good day although a little whingey once we got home and the activity was over.  I had another go at the PVC doors now the heat has settled and after a lot of head scratching, youtube searching and trial and error... I appear to have made progress :-) We can now lock our back door properly (don't tell anyone that we couldn't before!) 
Less than a week until they're both back at school now.  Yikes, need to get organised.
