Birthday Boy

When we got up this morning and went over to Mark and Rosie’s house, we were greeted by their very excited grandson, Marcus, who was celebrating his 5th birthday today. He is the son of Luke, (who we’ve known since he was not much older) and Reena Rose, his wife from the Philippines. It wasn’t just the excitement of opening his birthday presents, but also they were taking him for a day out to a Theme Park called Thorpe Park.
The rest of the day was for the driving, including the fun interlude of crossing over to France on the Channel Tunnel. We survived the hairy drive through Paris, with David successfully navigating the many motorbikes, weaving in and out of the cars at speed, and the heavy downpours adding intermittently to the stress!
Looking forward to relaxing tonight at our first campsite near Orléans, south of Paris.
