“right of way”

I found this little gem out on my walk today..a derelict old sign that has been broken/defaced and become almost illegible. Presumably at some time it read “No right of way”.

I cannot remember the last time that this gate was actually closed - but bizarrely, if it was closed, the sign would become redundant as there is a public path/bridleway/cycle path beyond, and so there is a right of way!

I like all the textures and different layers of the remaining plywood, with the little ear of grass poking up at the bottom.
