Now, as I see it......

Borough Market

A great evening last night at Ronnie Scotts.  Georgie Fame initially looked frail and was helped on stage with a very glittery walking stick, but he explained he'd recently had heart surgery and his voice was still as good as ever.  As an added bonus he brought on one of his old mates, Zoot Money, for a couple of songs.  They may both be around 80 years old but they were still great entertainers.

This morning we had breakfast at Gails Bakery near the hotel and then headed off to Borough Market.  As expected we spent more than intended but came away with some good cheeses, a couple of decent Belgian beers, and a couple of huge Reuben sandwiches for the train journey home.  The produce on sale is superb; I just wish I had a fruit and vegetable stall as well stocked as this within walking distance of home.  A bit more cheese purchased in Eataly next to Liverpool Street station while we waited for the train, and we're now home after a good couple of days.

As I published this I heard the awful announcement about the Queen.
