Evening light

The long, slowly fading light could be a metaphor. Of course it's sad for the Queen's family, but I'm glad for her that she died peacefully at home after a long and successful life. I'm no supporter of the monarchy, but she was someone everyone respected for her dignity and sense of duty.

No blips for a couple of days due to lack of blip mojo ... S is back as of Tuesday, and last night we went to the local restaurant with Ingrid, G and V to toast her departure -- we won't see her again till next summer. It was a long and sometimes riotous evening, as is always likely when V is around -- luckily we chose a table at the far end of the terrace, leaving other customers in relative peace.

V can be annoying at times, but in the right mood he's very entertaining too. We rambled through aperos, a good proportion of the tapas menu, two bottles of wine and finally a bottle of blanquette.  Arrived 7:30, left at midnight. It was a good send-off.
