Basalt Pillar Sculpture

… at Fingal’s Cave on Staffa Island. I loved the curved rocks more than Fingal’s Cave itself. We saw dolphins, seals and one White Tailed Sea Eagle sitting on a cliff, on the boat ride (extras).

I am still finding it hard to believe that I sea kayaked all the way round Mull and visited Staffa and Iona, when I had just finished teacher training college. We never saw anything of the island as we landed, unpacked the tents and stayed in there all night to escape the midges, running to the kayaks in the morning to get to sea to escape them! Not many around in September it seems.

Thanks to those who are still following our journey, I quickly read comments at night then fall soundly asleep, dreaming of single track roads!
