The Edge of the Wold

May Day

It's official. Dawn is too early for me now. The sun was blazing through the bedroom window as I got up before 0600. As Gus and I climbed the east facing slope of Arnside Knott, the cloud was already gathering, and the sun was just showing through. The view is across the misty, low-lying mossland, the wooded hill of Slackhead, to Clawthorpe Fell and into the low hills beyond.

So again no Highlands today, but if you need your daily moo, there is a little calf silhouetted here. He was separated from his mother and calling to her across the hill.

Probably best viewed large.
