Late summer/early autumn garden tidy

Normally we would have been in Hexham for the whole weekend, but due to illness (not ours) we had to change our plans. Instead, we are making a day trip there tomorrow to wish Mummy hazelh a happy birthday.

The switch of arrangements means that we had no plans for today. So when Mr hazelh's ex-colleague Phil sent a message to say that he and his wife Rachel are in town for the weekend, we were able to invite them over for tea and scones this morning. They also brought their daughter MJ. It's probably around 18 years since we last saw them, and their lifestyle is rather different from ours (they are very, very committed Christians), but we found enough to discuss around the kitchen table. The conversation included Blipfoto, Lorna Lloyd, tandems (and the Gospel according to Mark).

This afternoon Mr hazelh and I gardened. We dug up our potato crop (so proud!), 'organised' the three compost bins, pulled out the runner beans, secured the sunflowers, weeded the vegetable patch, and raked leaves. My blip shows the neat and tidy vegetable patch from our bedroom window.

I woke early from another nightmare this morning. It has haunted me much of the day. I hope that this isn't turning into a habit.

Exercise today: none.
