If you can't beat them...

Red Sails

An unusual day for a Saturday.  It started with getting Kat to Watermillock Village Hall for 8:45 to start her course.  We couldn't start prepping the Lodge until 10: so we had to fill in time.  Obviously photography was the first order of the day.  We found an empty layby with access to the shore.  Just as we were leaving it filled with paddleboarders.

What to do with the rest of the time?  Well, that was obvious coffee and scone at the NT cafe Aira Force.  Then on off to rep the Lodge.  After dealing with the Lodge we decided to spend more time down the valley rather than go home.  So taking a flask with us we headed further down the lake than we had been in the morning.

The lake was heaving with people doing various water sports.  I could see a few accidents looking for somewhere to happen.  Wild swimmers swimming across the lake with no bright float or swim cap so were virtually invisible to the "steamers" and hired motor boats.  Despite the drowning a couple of weeks ago paddleboarders in the middle of the lake not wearing buoyancy aids.  There were also a lot of yachts and unusually the majority had red sails, usually, the yachts are from the yacht club and sails are white.
