If you can't beat them...

We dropped Kat off at her First Aid course and then drove along the Lake.   We squeezed ourselves into the last pace on a layby, already full of empty cars.  Where the drivers had gone I don't know as there was a 6 to 8 foot drop with no steps down to the Lake shore.

This wasn't a problem for us as we walked a few yards back along the road and got a clear view across the lake to Sandwick.  The mountain in the background is Winter Crag leading up to Beda Head.

In the afternoon we filled the trailer with some rocks Kat had bought to make a rockery, then I gave the grass what I hope may be its last cut of the year.  Just before it started to rain I put the mower away and then it was off to collect Kat from her course.
