My topsy-turvy life

Re-en-acting

Louisa needed to get some work done today so we had an Owen & Daddy day with a trip to Chirk Castle. As we drove along the drive towards the car park I noticed a whole host of tents in a medieval village and realised that we'd timed our visit with a reenactment weekend.

We had a great time exploring the gardens and the castle. Owen cruises through the state rooms at my kind of speed, and loved going up -the tower- and down -into the dungeon- using only slightly terrifying spiral staircases. There was obviously ice cream and, although he was a little bit scared of the people in costumes, he had no qualms about bring a Knight himself, before we went out to watch the 'baddle' of Crogan*.

He wasn't really keen on the reenactment itself but stuck it out before we had our own superhero battle on the lawn.
