Sunrise

We left our accommodation at Mongonissi, the southernmost part of Paxos Island (Greece) to drive north a few miles along the east coast road to the port at Gaios. The colours over mainland Greece were intense all along the route (the island is only 6.5 miles long!) and I stopped just outside Gaios as I spied a fishing boat leaving harbour to get my last photograph of our holiday. 

The hydrofoil (which takes an hour) which we booked wasn't running (it's always breaking down) and Joy Cruises that run it are notorious with the locals for their bad service. Instead we endured the normal ferry which was 2hr 15 minutes.

Our plane to Gatwick from Corfu took off on time and we landed with rain as a welcome. After collecting our car, it was a three hour drive home - back in good time to watch Cardiff FC play their match tonight!
