Shogun

For those cinema buffs amongst you this is where both Shogun & The Last Samuri were filmed. Himeji Castle is very striking and set amongst beautiful gardens and surrounded by a lovely moat.

The main castle keep has been under renovation since 2009, with work scheduled to be completed in 2014. It takes place every 50 years and so I'm not likely to see it again in my life time. I can't wait to return next year when the work is complete. Great day!
