The Queue

Today we went to see the latest tourist attraction in London:  "The Queue".  As you will surely know, this is the queue to see the coffin of HM The Queen lying in state in Westminster Hall.  At its longest The Queue has been 10 miles and in excess of 20 hours of steady progress to pass by the coffin in a couple of minutes.

The part of The Queue in my blip is approaching Blackfriars Bridge, well over halfway towards its destination.  I reckon the people here still have a good 4 or 5 hours or so to get to Westminster Hall. I think the mobile food and drink stalls along the way are doing good business.

I have to say that press reports about the good nature of The Queue seem to be supported by what we saw today.  Everyone seemed in good spirits.  Sometimes parts of The Queue were moving quickly, with people having to walk at a brisk pace to keep up.  Sometime parts were stationary.  My wife met someone who was in The Queue for the second time - having paid her respects to the Queen last Thursday, but feeling the need to do it again.

A peculiarly British phenomenon:  The Queue.

Thanks to Chantler63 for inspiring my visit today.
