Cross

After breakfast we left Potter Heigham and made our way towards our next overnight stop at Salhouse Broad. We stopped off for elevenses near St Benet’s Abbey. It’s somewhere we’ve passed many times but never stopped at. The cross is made of oak from Queen Elizabeth’s estate at Sandringham. There is an annual religious service held at the ancient site by the Bishop of Norwich.
We have a lovely peaceful setting for our overnight stop. We walked into the village late afternoon but nothing appeared open, the pub only opens Friday to Sunday.
