Slump antidote

Perhaps because of some nights of interrupted sleep, and/or perhaps because aspects of current world and UK news are sometimes so overwhelming... today felt like a bit of a slump.
At these moments, I sometimes turn to favourite authors for help.

The wonderful partnership between author John Berger and photographer Jean Mohr is just such a remedy.  This is an old book, first published in 1982. A large part of it - 150 pages - is a long sequence of photos, without captions of any kind, described by the authors as 'depicting a peasant woman's life'. Many of Jean Mohr's images focus on the tiny, moving details of day-to-day life; there's inspiration there, sometimes enigma, and also comfort. I'm rethinking aspects of my own photography at the moment, and the book is an ideal companion.
