Which is emulating which?

A few days ago when S drove as we went to Swanson, I thought I saw an emu in a fenced paddock near Oratia. The next time we went past I figured I had mis-identified an alpaca.
Today when we went past I clearly saw the emu, and stopped to record it; grazing alongside sheep and alpaca also nearby.
