Under Pressure

We had an appointment this morning at the VW Dealership for a state inspection and oil change. Rather than wait inside we decided to walk around their oversized parking lot and drool over new vehicles. The sky was ominous with a strange mixture of dark skies and puffy white clouds • We noticed a Public Works guy near a fire hydrant next to the exit. Suddenly a huge torrent of water shot out of the hydrant far into the parking lot where we were standing. It was fun to watch at first but then the water and spray started getting too close for comfort! As we walked quickly around to avoid it I waved to the guy and he came right over • He smiled and assured that he saw us, explaining he had a choice between two nozzles: 80 psi or 120. Thankfully for us he didn’t choose the 120 psi, LoL!! It’s a job they do twice a year, once in the spring, then fall. While we chatted a rainbow appeared in the mist below the gush of hydrant water. Of course I got my phone out! • We did a few other errands before heading home. It’s always a pleasure to arrive in the house to find all three cats in deep sleep comas oblivious their Mamas almost got swept away by the Hydrant Monster! • Somewhere Over The Rainbow…
