Going to Town Day...

..to get groceries and some exercise - it is hard to walk very far on a tiny island! My daughter and SIL went on a long hike whilst I browsed the shops and paid a visit to Bearly Used Books - a huge bookstore in Parry Sound ..and, quel surpris, did not buy a thing!

The arrival of autumn was noticeable  - not as many tourist roaming around the town and at the marina?  Fewer boats still in the water.. Summer is already a memory...

Then it was back to the cottage.. for me to rest, read and watch Hurricane Ian coverage on TV; for my daughter and SIL? They always have work to do around the island, cutting down trees, chopping firewood, fixing things that need fixing...and making a start on all the chores involved in closing up for the season, so after lunch, they went right back to work.

I was feeling a lot better today..  am hoping the trend continues! The weather forecast is promising - tomorrow sunshine! That sure lifts the spirits! But...  there is also a frost alert (!) and the overnight temperature will be 1degree celsius!  We have toques, gloves and down jackets, so we should be fine! The sun tomorrow will make up for everything.
