Lozarhythm Of The Day:
John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers - Looking Back (recorded 30 September 1966, Decca Studios, West Hampstead)
John Mayall (vcl, rh gtr), Peter Green (ld gtr), John McVie (bass), Aynsley Dunbar (dr)
with John Almond (bar sax), Nick Newell (tenor sax), Henry Lowther (tr)
By what divine intervention is it that when you lose Eric Clapton as your guitarist, the replacement you find is Peter Green? This single was recorded on this day in 1966 and features the line-up who recorded the album A Hard Road. The much recorded song was written and first recorded by Johnny 'Guitar' Watson in 1961. Peter Green and John McVie were soon to break away to form Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, and Peter Green’s replacement was Mick Taylor (pre-Rolling Stones).
