Back In Gear

I figured I wouldn’t be able to get lunch at the deli (again) so I went early enough to get breakfast. I hadn’t seen Breakfast Buddy and Korean Vet friend for months. If nothing else, it was nice to see them and have a nice chat.

BB had a regular morning routine which included a long bike ride. He told me that he got a new ride, this trike, because he twice suffered from vertigo while riding and fell. He couldn’t take anymore chances, especially on some of the busy streets

In other news…I’m going to be in a drug trial for a cholesterol medication that will, hopefully, be more effective than what I’m currently taking (ezetimibe). I’m allergic to statins and everything else is bad for the ol’ kidneys.

A man on a bike carrying two sacks of sand was stopped by a guard at the US-Mexican border.
“What’s in the bags?“ The guard asked.
“Sand,” the bicyclist said.
“We’ll still have to check it out,” the biker was told.
Sure enough, the bags were full of sand.
This occurred every week for six months until the cyclist failed to appear.

A month later, the same border guard ran into the cyclist in the city. “Where have you been?” the guard asked. “You sure had us wondering. We knew you were smuggling something across the border. So tell me and I won’t say a word.”

With a big grin, the biker told him the truth.
“Bicycles!”
