Life through the lens...

Light and shade

After having my hair cut this morning I called round for our usual Saturday Yorkshire Post, and stopped off at the village pond. The leaves are now beginning to change to their autumn tints and I liked the light and shade on the village green. You may have spotted the village stocks.
The pond has shrunk again despite the rain we have had this week. Could only see half a dozen ducks and a couple of moorhens.

After lunch went to the garden nursery for some mini cyclamen to fill the pots on the kitchen windowsill.
I wanted a few more bulbs but they hadn’t many left. Must remember to buy them earlier next year.
Then spent the rest of the afternoon planting up the pots with spring bulbs, and cutting back more perennials which have now finished flowering.

After all this I enjoyed a glass or two of red wine and a takeaway pizza. We are lucky to have a good pizza takeaway in the village, and we do enjoy it from time to time.

It has been a glorious autumnal day. Hope tomorrow is as good.
