Abstract Thursday ....

... Not.

I simply took too many pictures today to choose just one for Abstract Thursday!  And besides ... I'm backblipping this way too late!

Today's weather was really just perfect.  Warm temps and lots of sunshine.  It was so nice that we were able to get out to Jacobsburg State Park for a suppertime picnic.  We picked up some sandwiches on the way and sat in the pavilion to eat them.  It was lovely.

Afterwards we took a nice walk around the park ... starting at the frog pond.  The only picture in my collage taken whilst at Jacobsburg is the one in bottom center of a small Northern green frog.

The rest of my photos were taken while I was sitting outside in our garden.  The most surprising sight today was a lovely male monarch butterfly that came to feed on our zinnias.  He was not raised in one of our butterfly enclosures but he could have come from our milkweed patch in the back garden.

Also featured in a gorgeous blue jay ... if you look close enough (must go large) you can see a lot of peanut dust flying up all around him/her.  I was also surprised to see a lovely Eastern cottontail in the back as we don't see many these days.  Probably because of an increase in the red fox population ... one of which we saw recently in the backyard.

Backblipped: October 11 ... trying to catch up.
