Zennor...

...is a tiny village west of St Ives. It has an ancient and much loved church. My main photo shows some of the many seat cushions made by the ladies of the parish. Probably the most famous thing in the church is the carved pew end in the first extra, probably dating from about 1600, showing the mermaid in the legend explained in the second extra. Next door to the church was a farm selling its home-made ice cream in the third extra.  I had Creme Fraiche and Lemon Curd while Mr HCB had Salted Almond and Hazelnut - absolutely delicious. Much later in the day we found room for venison casserole in a wonderful old pub, the Gurnard's Head. We probably should have tried the gurnard, though not its head.
